The Hearth Restaurant in Martin, TN offers a solid Southern dining experience that feels like stepping into a local favorite for hearty, home-style meals. As a family-friendly spot specializing in breakfast and Southern classics, it caters well to both early risers craving a filling breakfast bowl or ribeye and those looking for comfort food later in the day.

The atmosphere here is straightforward and welcoming rather than trendy, with a steady flow of regulars alongside visitors passing through town or stopping after a day at nearby parks. It gets particularly busy on special deals like senior day or buffet days, which speak to its appeal among locals who appreciate good value and generous portions.

Menu highlights include the deep-fried catfish served with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, chicken fried steak, and a variety of breakfast options like country ham and skillet favorites. The food bar and salad offerings provide solid choices for those not ordering off the menu, balancing classic Southern meat-and-vegetable plates with lighter sides. Sweet tea, hush puppies, collard greens, and cobblers round out the experience with authentic regional touches.

Service is noted for being friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant is crowded — a sign that the staff keeps the place running smoothly and makes diners feel like more than just customers. The cooks seem dedicated to maintaining consistent quality, with several patrons singling out steaks and fried chicken as particularly well prepared.

This restaurant makes a good stop for families, road trippers, or anyone looking to enjoy down-home Southern cooking without the fuss. Mornings and early evenings are likely the best times to visit to avoid peak buffet crowds, and those who enjoy straightforward, tasty comfort food will find plenty here to appreciate. The Hearth leans into its role as a dependable local spot where you can expect a warm, unpretentious meal served with care.

Stopped by to grab a bite while in Martin. We definitely stopped on the wrong day as it was all you can eat senior day. OMG, the place was packed. The server did a great job taking care of us despite being a packed house. We ordered off the menu and had wonderful burgers. You simply cannot beat the value provided by this place. If you are looking for a good meal at an affordable price, check them out.

We dined in an early Wednesday morning, heading home from an out of town work trip. This restaurant was just slightly out of the way, but we are happy to have stopped! Our server treated my family and I as if we were any other regular of the restaurant, and made us feel welcomed. We overheard that the cook was new, but you would have never known based on the food we were given. Every element was delicious, ESPECIALLY the hashbrowns. Seriously. I would have eaten an entire plate of just the hashbrowns. I cannot attest for their lunch or dinner, but the breakfast was phenomenal. Will probably return if ever in the area! ** I feel it should be noted that it isn’t very appealing to hear employees talk about other former employee’s drug addictions or reasons for firing. Those conversations should probably be had in private, out of earshot. This is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

When I tell you . I ordered the biggest steak they had. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS . Cooked to perfection. I've had some high end restaurant steaks and Non of them could ever compete with Eric. The juiciest cut like butter melted in my mouth. Stop on by and ask for a steak cooked by Eric . The best

Was pretty good. Some of us ordered off the menu, BLT, and chicken quesadilla, and they were excellent. Buffet meat (didn't do the sea food) wasn't my favorite, but the veggies, salad bar, and desserts were good. It's definitely a great stop after a road trip to Discovery Park.

Absolutely the BEST chicken!!!!!! My husband had the catfish and was impressed which for him is quite a feat!!! Service was outstanding and super friendly!!! Attention to detail was so welcomed!!! You can order off menu or get food off the buffet. Well worth going to! Salad bar was plentiful and fresh! Go check it out — well worth it!

Food is good Southern cuisine, was seasoned well. However didn't see the cornbread or rolls. I'm sure we missed it. Would be nice to come up with a theme so it would have more decor and give it special atmosphere. Waitress was nice enough but not very talkative..all business which falls short of friendliness. All in all, will certainly come back!

Yum—one word easily describes this place. The staff is friendly, and while it could really use a deep cleaning, fresh paint, and a few new booth seats, the food makes it easy to look past the outdated décor. The worn chairs, tables, walls, and floors fade into the background once the food touch’s your tastebuds, because it’s just that good.
